5 Conditions, 5 Doctors, 1 Dirty Bloodstream
Share
I want to read you a list. Eczema. Asthma. Candida. Hair loss. Brain fog. Food intolerances. Gum issues. Eye problems. Back pain. Mood instability.
That is not a list of ten different conditions. That is a list of ten symptoms I had simultaneously, each one being treated by a different doctor with a different prescription, as if they had nothing to do with each other.
I had a dermatologist for the eczema. A pulmonologist for the asthma. I was taking supplements for the candida. I tried nootropics for the brain fog. I was seeing maybe three doctors at any given time, rotating between them depending on which symptom was loudest that month.
Not a single one of them ever said: these might be connected. Not a single one of them ever looked at my blood and said: this is all coming from the same place.
If you have more than one chronic issue right now, if you are managing your skin with one doctor, your gut with another, and your mood with a therapist, and none of them are talking to each other, this is the article that will change how you see your health. Because those are not separate problems. They are one problem in your blood showing up in different places.
How I Ended Up With Five Conditions Before I Was Twenty
Let me walk you through my timeline. Because when you see it laid out, the pattern becomes obvious.
I was two years old. My mom remembers me screaming in my crib, covered in rashes and peeling skin. The doctor came to our house and blamed a wool blanket. They removed the blanket but the eczema stayed. Something else was happening.
From that point on, I was prescribed steroid creams. I was also diagnosed with asthma around the same time and given an inhaler. At two years old I was already on two medications for two conditions that everyone treated as separate issues. Skin problem. Breathing problem. Two specialists. Two prescriptions. No one looking at what was in my blood that might be causing both.
By twelve, the candida appeared. And then the brain fog hit hard. I could not focus on anything in school. It was like my brain was running through static. I thought I had ADHD. I started looking into nootropics, focus supplements, anything to sharpen my mind. Nothing worked because the problem was not in my brain. It was in my blood. But I would not understand that for another fifteen years.
The hair loss started in my twenties. My hair did not fall out in clumps. It just thinned. I tracked it to specific foods. Nuts and sugar together were the worst combination. Even rice would trigger it. Anything my body could not process would trigger breakage and thinning.
So here I was. Eczema since age two. Asthma since age two. Candida since twelve. Brain fog since twelve. Hair loss in my twenties. Food intolerances that kept multiplying. Each one managed separately. Each one getting worse over time despite the management. And nobody looking at the one thing they all had in common.
What Steroids Actually Do To Your Blood
Now let me show you the chain that nobody showed me. To understand the chain, you need to understand what steroids actually do. Because I was on them for 23 years and nobody explained this to me once.
Steroids are a mute button. They do not fix anything. They stop your body from reacting to the thing that is wrong.
When your immune system detects a problem, it sends cells through the blood to fight it. That fight creates inflammation. Redness, swelling, heat, pain. That is your body doing its job. Steroids suppress that response. They slow down the production of the chemicals that create inflammation. So the redness fades. The swelling goes down. The airways open. The rash calms. And you think the medication is working.
But the thing that triggered the inflammation is still there. Still circulating in the blood. Your body was trying to fight something and the steroid told it to stop fighting. The dirty blood did not get cleaned. Your body just stopped responding to it.
And it gets worse. Steroids do not just suppress inflammation in the area you apply them. They suppress immune function broadly. They reduce the production of the immune cells your blood carries. The longer you are on them, the more your blood's ability to defend you is turned down.
So while my skin's immune response was being muted, and while my lungs' immune response was being muted, the bacteria, the candida, the parasites underneath all of it had free rein. The immune cells that should have been circulating in my blood to fight them were being chemically suppressed. The guard was told to go home while the intruders stayed inside.
The Domino Chain That Nobody Showed Me
Here is the chain. I had asthma. I was given a steroid inhaler at age two. My doctors told me to rinse my mouth after every use because the steroid residue could cause oral infections. But I had exercise-induced asthma. I was taking my inhaler in the middle of sports, in situations where I could not stop and rinse. I was a kid. I forgot.
The steroid residue suppressed local immune function in my mouth and throat. Strep bacteria thrived. I got strep throat repeatedly. The strep was treated with antibiotics. Multiple rounds over years. Antibiotics sterilize. They do not discriminate. They destroy harmful and beneficial bacteria equally. Every round wiped my gut flora clean. And what filled the vacuum was whatever was most aggressive. In my case, candida.
So the steroid inhaler suppressed the immune cells in my blood and my mouth. The strep thrived because nothing was fighting it. The antibiotics for the strep destroyed my gut bacteria. The destroyed gut bacteria allowed candida to take over. And the candida meant my gut was feeding dirty blood into my entire body, causing the brain fog, the food intolerances, the hair loss, and the skin reactions.
One medication. Given to me at age two. Started a chain that produced over a decade of cascading health issues. Each one treated as its own isolated problem. Each treatment creating the next problem. And the whole time, my blood was getting dirtier because nothing was cleaning it.
Every Woman Has Her Own Version Of This Chain
Every woman I talk to has her own version. The birth control that triggered the acne. The acne medication that damaged the gut. The gut issues that led to food restrictions. The food restrictions that led to nutrient depletion. The depletion that led to fatigue and mood problems. The antidepressant that caused weight gain.
It is dominoes. And every doctor she sees is looking at one domino in isolation, prescribing something that knocks down the next one, and none of them looking at the blood that connects all of them.
So what is the actual single cause underneath all of it?
Dirty blood. Blood that is carrying waste from a congested gut. Blood that is carrying inflammatory markers from an immune system that has been suppressed for years. Blood that is carrying medication residue that was never fully eliminated. Blood that is delivering all of that to every organ, every tissue, every cell in the body.
Your skin breaks out because your blood is carrying waste it is pushing to the surface. Your lungs struggle because the oxygen-carrying capacity of dirty blood is compromised. Your brain fogs because inflamed blood does not deliver clean fuel to your neurons. Your hair thins because the blood feeding your follicles does not have what they need to produce strong growth.
One source. Ten symptoms. And the source is what is sitting in your gut and circulating in your blood.
What Happened When I Finally Cleaned The Source
When I started cleaning my blood, the symptoms did not just improve. They resolved. In an order I did not expect.
Digestion improved first. That made sense because that is where the blood gets fed. Clean the gut, and cleaner blood starts circulating. Then energy and mood shifted, because the blood reaching my brain was carrying less waste. Then skin started clearing, because the blood feeding my skin was finally clean enough to support repair.
But the one that shocked me was asthma.
I was doing heavy physical work one day. Cleaning, moving furniture, hauling things up and down stairs for hours. And at some point I stopped and realized my breathing was completely clear. No tightness. No wheezing. No reaching for the inhaler. I had been doing hard physical labor all day and my lungs were fine.
For my entire life, walking up a flight of stairs would leave me winded. And now I was moving furniture for hours with no issue. My blood was clean. My lungs were getting clean, oxygenated blood for the first time in my life. And they worked. They just worked.
I remember standing there feeling genuinely happy. Not because the work was done. Because for the first time, I experienced what breathing felt like with clean blood. Without medication, without limitation, without feeling like I was on the edge of an attack. And I realized how much of my life I had lived in a diminished version of my own body without knowing it.
That is what chronic illness does. It becomes your normal. You forget what healthy feels like because you have never experienced it. You think the brain fog is just how your brain works. You think the fatigue is just your energy level. You think the skin reactions are just your skin type. You build your entire identity around limitations that are not actually yours. They belong to whatever is dirtying your blood.
What To Do Tonight
If you have more than one chronic symptom right now, do something tonight. Write down every condition, every symptom, every medication you are on or have ever been on. Put them in order by when they started. Then draw a line between each one and see if the medication for one might have caused the next. That list is the beginning of your answer.
You are not a collection of separate conditions. You are one body with one bloodstream. And when the blood is dirty, everything it touches shows symptoms.
Clean the blood. The body takes care of the rest.
If You Want To See What Is Actually In Your Blood Right Now
I built a free tool called the Cell Scan. It walks you through what is actually overloading your bloodstream right now and how every symptom you have been treating separately connects back to it. It takes five minutes.
Or if you want to start cleaning your blood directly with the 14-day reset I built around this exact process:
