What Distilled Water Did to My Skin in 30 Days

What Distilled Water Did to My Skin in 30 Days

You lotion your entire body every single day. Maybe twice. You get out of the shower and your skin feels tight, dry, coated. You've been told that's just eczema. That's just dry skin. That your skin barrier is damaged and you need to seal in moisture before it evaporates.

So you've tried everything. CeraVe. Vanicream. Coconut oil. Shea butter. Prescription ointments. The $60 ceramide cream your dermatologist recommended. You've spent years layering products onto skin that absorbs them instantly and goes right back to feeling dry, rough, and inflamed within hours.

And nobody has ever asked you about your water.

Not the water you drink. The water you shower in. The water that hits your skin every single day and leaves something behind that you've been covering with lotion your entire life.

I had eczema for 27 years. I tried every product. Every cream. Every protocol. And my skin didn't heal until I changed one thing that had nothing to do with what I was putting on my skin. It was what I was putting in my body. And what was sitting on my skin after every shower. The water.

The white cast I thought was dry skin

I noticed it for the first time in the shower. And once I saw it, I couldn't unsee it.

Every time I took a shower, I'd get out and there would be this white cast over my skin. Every time. My entire life. I was told that was dry skin. That's what everyone says. Your dermatologist says it. The internet says it. Your mother says it. "Your skin is dry after a shower. Use lotion."

So I'd put on lotion. Every single time. For years. CeraVe in the tub. Aquaphor on the worst patches. Steroid cream on the flares. Layer after layer after layer on top of skin that never actually healed.

Then one day, after I'd already started drinking distilled water internally, I tried something. After a regular shower with regular tap water, I poured distilled water over my arms and my face.

The white cast disappeared. Completely. No lotion. No cream. No product. Just clean water.

That wasn't dry skin. It was never dry skin. It was mineral deposits. Left behind by the municipal water every single time I showered. Sitting on my skin. Layering. Building up day after day, year after year. And I'd been covering it with lotion instead of seeing it for what it actually was.

If you have eczema and your skin feels tight and rough after every shower no matter what lotion you use, this might be why. It's not your skin barrier. It's what's sitting on top of your skin barrier. And no cream in the world is going to fix a deposit problem. It just covers it.

And here's the question that changed everything for me. If that's what regular water is leaving on the outside of my body, where I can see it, what is it depositing in my blood every time I drink it?

What water does to your blood

Every glass of water you drink gets absorbed through your intestinal lining into your bloodstream. Whatever is dissolved in that water enters your blood. Chlorine. Fluoride. Dissolved minerals. Whatever your municipal system adds. It all enters your blood.

Your blood's job is to carry everything your body needs — oxygen, nutrients, immune cells, hormones — and remove everything it doesn't. But it can only do that if it's clean. If every glass of water you drink is adding trace amounts of dissolved material into your bloodstream, your blood has to process that. Your liver has to filter it. Your kidneys have to deal with it. Every single day, every single glass, adding to the load.

Now think about your skin. Your skin is fed by your blood. Every cell in your skin receives oxygen, nutrients, and immune signals through the blood. When your blood is carrying dissolved minerals, inflammatory waste, and debris that should have been cleared but wasn't, it delivers that to your skin too. Your eczema isn't just on the surface. It's being fed from underneath by blood that's overloaded.

You've been treating your skin from the outside with creams and ointments. But the problem is coming from the inside, through blood that's been dirtied by the very water you drink every day.

Distilled water has nothing in it. It's water in its purest form. Made from steam. Everything that was in the water gets left behind when it evaporates. What condenses is just water. Nothing else.

When you drink it, it does what water is supposed to do. It moves through your system and cleans your blood. It doesn't deposit. It doesn't add to the load. It reduces it. It picks up waste and carries it out. It gives your kidneys and liver less to filter because the water itself contributes nothing that needs filtering.

What about the myths

You might have heard that distilled water is dangerous. That it leaches minerals from your body. That it's "dead water." I heard all of that too.

Distilled water does not leach minerals from your cells. Your body regulates its own mineral balance through a system that's been running since before you were born. What distilled water does is move through your digestive system without adding anything extra to the blood. It's a blood cleanser without residue.

The idea that water needs minerals in it to be healthy benefits companies who sell mineral water. It doesn't benefit your blood. And it doesn't benefit your skin.

I drank distilled water exclusively for thirty days. I didn't lose my teeth. My bones didn't weaken. My electrolytes didn't crash. What happened is that every system in my body worked better. Because for the first time, the thing I was using to clean my blood was actually clean.

Thirty days of distilled water

Let me be specific about what those thirty days looked like.

I bought gallon jugs of distilled water from the grocery store. Bottom shelf. Less than two dollars each. I drank only distilled water. When I cooked, I used distilled water. Everything I controlled, I switched.

After showers, I rinsed my skin with distilled water. The white cast that had been there my entire life stopped showing up. I stopped using lotion. I didn't need it anymore because my skin wasn't coated in mineral residue. For the first time in 27 years, my skin felt like skin. Not like a surface I had to manage.

I also count fresh fruit juice as part of this. Fresh fruit is essentially distilled water. The fruit filters out everything else. There are no dissolved minerals in a fresh orange. It's pure water with nutrients the plant produced. Clean water entering the blood.

I was about ninety percent consistent. The only breaks were when someone else prepared food and I didn't know what water they used.

And over those thirty days, my body changed.

My digestion, which had been sluggish for as long as I could remember, started working. Without supplements. Without enzymes. Without probiotics. Because my gut was finally being flushed with clean water, and the blood it was feeding into the body was getting cleaner every day.

The bloating that I thought was just how my body looked started to go down. My skin started clearing in ways that 27 years of skincare products never achieved, because the blood feeding my skin was carrying less waste. My energy leveled out. Not a spike. A steady, even baseline that lasted all day. The brain fog lifted because cleaner blood was reaching my brain. My mood stabilized. My hair and nails started to change.

I didn't add a single thing. I removed one thing. The minerals and impurities in my water that had been dirtying my blood for years. And my body responded as if it had been waiting for that one change.

Because it had.

Look at what you're doing

You're spending money on eczema creams to treat your skin from the outside. You're spending money on supplements to fix your gut from the inside. You're spending money on dermatologist appointments that end with another prescription for another steroid cream. And every single day, you're drinking water that's adding to the very load your blood can't clear, and showering in water that's depositing onto the very skin you're trying to heal.

You're lotioning over mineral deposits and wondering why your skin won't heal.

If you keep doing what you're doing, you'll keep getting what you're getting. Temporary relief that fades. Creams that work for a while and then stop. Skin that never quite clears permanently. Blood that never gets clean enough for your body to heal what it's been trying to heal your entire life.

Or you try this. For fourteen days. Change nothing else. Just the water. And let your blood show you what it's been trying to do all along.

What to do today

Go to your nearest grocery store today. Buy one gallon of distilled water. Bottom shelf. Less than two dollars. Drink it for the rest of the day. After your next shower, pour some over your skin. Watch what happens to that white cast you've been told is dry skin your whole life.
